Lafayette’s decision is part of its commitment to making college more accessible and the process more inclusive for students.
Local and national media outlets have reported on Lafayette College’s decision to reduce Common App activities submissions.
On Aug. 2, Lafayette announced that, consistent with its commitment to excellence, access, and inclusion, it will consider up to six activities rather than the 10 available through the application form on the Common App, which high school students around the world use to apply to college.
President Nicole Hurd and Vice President for Enrollment Management Forrest Stuart have been in several op-eds and news articles in recent days regarding the decision.
