Photo galleries capture the spirit of Rivalry Week
As the Lafayette Leopards prepared to take on the Lehigh Mountain Hawks for the 159th Rivalry—the most-played football rivalry in the country—the entire Lafayette community got in on the action and enjoyed a weeklong celebration of traditions and activities. Students gathered in Farinon College Center to create Rivalry banners to display throughout College Hill.
To kick off the week, the Lafayette College community gathered to watch the lighting of Pardee Hall. The football team handed out hot cocoa. The event was immediately followed by s’mores and snacks around fire pits on the Quad.
Rivalry Week was in full swing as Student Movement Against Cancer (SMAC) and Lafayette Activities Forum (LAF) held the annual SMAC the Lehigh car event.
President Nicole Hurd was joined by Joseph J. Helble, president of Lehigh University, for a walk around Lafayette’s campus Tuesday. The walk—a new tradition shared by both college presidents— takes place at whichever college won the most recent Rivalry football game.
The Lafayette community came together to cheer on the Leopards at their practice. The event included food trucks, giveaways, activities, and more!
Students enjoyed “punt” cakes and a round of paintball on the Quad.
