With an engineering degree from Lafayette College, the possibilities are endless. Rated as one of the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs by U.S. News & World Report, engineering at Lafayette equips students with not only superior technical know-how, but also the communication and creative thinking skills they need to innovate sustainable solutions to socio-technical problems in a broad range of fields.

That’s because, for more than 150 years, Lafayette has blended a world-class engineering classroom education with the broad education of a liberal arts college. Housed in the state-of-the-art Acopian Engineering Center, the division offers five Bachelor of Science degrees (chemical, civil, electrical & computer, integrative, and mechanical engineering) and one Bachelor of Arts degree (engineering studies). Students also have an option to earn a dual degree in international studies along with a B.S. in an engineering discipline.

In addition to featuring hands-on projects and research opportunities (such as the EXCEL Scholar program) that foster innovative collaborations with faculty from all disciplines, preparing students for graduate school and their chosen industry, Lafayette engineering offers fully integrated study abroad programs that allow students to see the world and gain a global perspective on their studies—and still graduate in four years.

Our engineering graduates have gone on to make their mark in virtually every sector: from tech to health care, business, architecture, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and more. These recent alumni provide just a glimpse into the many rewarding career paths that are possible for engineering grads. I graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree from Lafayette. With that background, I had a career in healthcare with an MD degree and spent 35 years in primary care.
The Lafayette education was most important forming my career. Lafayette prepares you for life decisions, career and personal choices. The students interviewed confirm this. A degree in engineering becomes a foundation to explore and experience the world.

Super excited to learn about Lafayette graduates and how many of them positioned themselves quite well in the engineering profession. Longitudinal tracking certainly is an effective way to measure post-graduation outcome. It allows to share success stories and enables incoming students to value their education and get a sense of belonging. Congratulation to all Lafayette graduates, many are now established as professional engineers.
