Julie Smith smiles.

Prof. Julie Smith

NPR’s Morning Edition reached out to Prof. Julie Smith for its April 29 report about how the economy is influencing Northampton County voters as they consider who they will vote for in the November presidential election.

About four minutes into the report, Smith notes that people are still thinking about prices before the pandemic and that it will take time to get used to the reality of the current consumer marketplace.

Smith, the Frank Lee and Edna M. Smith Professor of Economics and assistant department head, is a regular guest on American Public Radio’s Marketplace, but this is her first appearance on Morning Edition, one of the most listened-to news radio programs in the U.S.
