Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
I am pleased to share with you an update on the Strategic Planning Process and upcoming listening sessions. With gratitude to the Campus-Wide Working Groups and the many who have participated in listening and feedback sessions throughout our planning process, the Strategic Planning Steering Committee, the Feasibility and Implementation Committee, and the President’s Senior Leadership Team continued to meet regularly throughout the summer to review and refine the work completed during the 2023-24 academic year. The vision and ideas of our many contributors have positioned us well to move into this next stage of the planning process.
We will now be hosting a series of listening sessions to review and discuss the current progress on the plan. Both during and following these sessions, at which we will share details about the plan’s priorities and initiatives, we will welcome your ideas and recommendations as we continue to build a plan that articulates the ambitions and mission of Lafayette College.
More information about the plan sessions and meetings is available below. To ensure that anyone in our community who wants to learn about the presentation can do so even if they can’t attend a session in person, we will record and share the Zoom session shortly after it concludes. That recording will also allow viewers to share their feedback about the presentation digitally.
The Strategic Plan has been built to capitalize upon strong synergies with the emerging Campus Master Plan. Over the summer, we hosted several open sessions to review the draft master plan and integrate campus and community feedback. At a campus forum in October, we will be sharing the updated Campus Master Plan for further discussion.
My thanks to the many faculty, staff, students, and community members who have served on committees, attended listening sessions, and submitted comments and questions thus far. Your participation has shaped our planning efforts substantially over these many months. We hope you will continue to share your time and insights as we work toward a final Strategic Plan and Master Plan by the end of this semester.
To great things ahead!
President Nicole Hurd
