Order will likely be challenged in the courts or by an act of Congress, Kincaid tells WFMZ-69 News
Prof. John Kincaid appeared on a Jan. 21 WFMZ-69 News broadcast about President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship guaranteeing that U.S.-born children are citizens regardless of their parents’ status.
Kincaid, the Robert B. and Helen S. Meyner Professor of Government and Public Service and director of the Meyner Center for the Study of State and Local Government, noted that the Trump administration believes that children of undocumented immigrants are not U.S. citizens, because they are not under the jurisdiction of the United States.
He said the order will likely be challenged in the courts or by an act of Congress.
