American political history podcaster and author Mike Duncan will present the John L. Hatfield ’67 Lecture, “Hero of Two Worlds,” Feb. 20, 4:30 p.m., in Hugel Hall of Science, Room 103. The event is free and open to the public.

“We at Lafayette College Libraries are excited to welcome Mike Duncan to campus as our 2025 John L. Hatfield ’67 lecturer,” says Charlotte Nunes, dean of Lafayette College Libraries.

“This year’s lecture will take place in the midst of two pivotal celebration years for the College and the nation: the bicentennial of Lafayette’s Farewell Tour and founding of the College in 2024, as well as the semiquincentennial of the nation and bicentennial of the College’s charter in 2026,” she says.

“Mike Duncan’s expertise on the Marquis de Lafayette and his experience translating historical contexts to popular media such as the podcast (his award-winning Revolutions podcast is a landmark of the genre) will encourage reflection on how this historically significant figure can relate to the student experience at Lafayette College in the 21st century,” Nunes adds.
