The Dog House, one of Lafayatte’s special interest houses, was featured in a March 28 WFMZ-69 News broadcast.
Dog House residents partner with the nonprofit organization Canine Partners for Life (CPL) to provide basic training to 6- to 10-month-old puppies that could potentially go on to become service dogs, or home and residential companion dogs, that assist individuals with a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities.
Residents are guided by their adviser, Bianca Falbo, associate professor of English and a certified dog trainer, who was included in the broadcast along with Avani Sukhtankar ’26 and Claire Coker ’27. Other students in the Dog House are Alessa Pescatore ’26, Sophia Gal ’27, and Zoey Osho ’26.
