My research focuses on: My research focuses on applied statistics, where I aim to develop novel statistical methods for various applications and apply existing methods to dataset in innovative ways. I primarily work with health and environmental data, which has led to my expertise in studying correlated data, extreme values, and data subject to measurement error.
This fall, I am teaching: MATH 186: Applied Statistics and MATH 336: Mathematical Statistics
What students can expect from me: My main goal is to foster learning and build students’ confidence. To support this, I strive to make my classes well organized and predictable, allowing students to focus fully on understanding the material. I also reinforce learning by connecting new concepts to those introduced earlier in the semester or in the prerequisites. I am open to new teaching tools that enhance student engagement, and I enjoy incorporating them into my teaching while adapting along the way. Students can also expect me to bring aspects of my research into the classroom, offering hands-on experiences that connect theory to real-world applications.
Getting to know me: I love playing board games! One of my favorites is Wingspan, and it got me into bird-watching! Now, whenever I go to a park, it is even more fun because I’ve started noticing different birds and keep learning something new about them.
