Faculty members begin to move into innovative, state-of-the-art building
After Lafayette has spent months watching the most eagerly anticipated building on campus take shape, Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center is about to open for official business. The state-of-the-art teaching and learning facility will be ready for students when classes begin Aug. 26.
The space was intentionally designed to spark and strengthen interdisciplinary connections, a distinctive feature of a Lafayette education.
Joann Ordille, assistant professor of computer science, was one of the first faculty members to move into Rockwell in mid-July. In the video below she shares her enthusiasm for her new campus home.
What has happened to Kunkel Hall? I took biology from Dr. Stableford at 8:00 M/W/F as a freshman in 1969 in Kunkel Hall. I believe it had just opened that fall as an academic building.

And what happened to the observatory where a student could see those little bits of light in the sky? Very curious!
Yes, you can look up and see the sky from the common space. It’s a light-filled building.
