57 faculty members began or continued work funded by grants and fellowships in 2007-08

Lafayette faculty members were exceptionally successful in securing grants and fellowships for research projects during the 2007-08 academic year. Fifty-seven faculty members from 17 departments across all four academic divisions — the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering — began or continued work with funding from 73 awards.

“Lafayette has much cause to celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of all of our colleagues who have received external support,” says Wendy L. Hill, provost and dean of the faculty.

The grants and fellowships were distributed by 32 organizations including the National Science Foundation, the Fulbright Commission, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and many others.
