While the massive infrastructure bill that was passed last Friday was a win for congressional Democrats, last week’s statewide election results were a warning sign for the party — with Republicans sweeping statewide races in Virginia, which had been trending blue for years, and the Democratic governor in New Jersey winning by only a razor-thin margin. These results will mean plenty of focus on next year’s midterm elections.
