Matthew Andler, Louise M. Olmsted Fellow for Ethics

An article by Matthew Andler, Louise M. Olmsted Fellow for Ethics, has been published in The Boston Review. In their article, “Nonbinary Design: Making Dating Apps Queer,” Andler explains that “dating applications tend to be designed in ways that force queer users to misrepresent their own experiences.” In response to this issue, Andler develops several alternative, inclusive designs, ultimately arguing that “the point isn’t only to chip out space for queer individuals, but also to share the hard-won wisdom embedded in queerness.”
