Lafayette College welcomes new trustees
Three alumni recently joined Lafayette College’s Board of Trustees and will serve five-year terms. The new trustees are:
John C. Santos Jr. ’87, principal, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., New York, N.Y.
Kirsti W. Goodwin ’96, managing director, Tower 3 Investments LLC, Richmond, Va.
Quincy L. Miller ’97, vice chair and president, Eastern Bank, Boston
John C. Santos Jr. ’87 is a principal of Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), one of the oldest and largest private banks in the U.S. He is the head of BBH’s Global Credit Administration department and chairs BBH’s Corporate Credit, International Risk and Credit, and Private Banking Private Wealth Management Credit committees. He is a member of the firm’s Asset/Liability, Private Banking Oversight, Markets Risk Oversight, Administration Oversight committees, and the firm’s Global Talent Council. He is also an ally of the BBH Pride Network and an executive sponsor of BBH’s Global Wellness initiative.
John C. Santos Jr. ’87
Santos joined BBH in its Corporate Banking department, and eventually ran the Merchant Banking Group. During his career, he has also had responsibility for Investor Services-New York, BBH’s Equity Brokerage and Sales department, and BBH’s Foreign Exchange activities globally. Prior to establishing the Global Credit department, Santos was responsible for the Treasury Department and Finance Technology Management Group.
Santos, a former director of the Green Coffee Association, National Coffee Association, and New York Board of Trade, received a degree in biology from Lafayette and was a member of the 1986 men’s soccer team, which is now in the Maroon Club Hall of Fame, and earned a J.D. from Seton Hall University and an MBA in finance from Fordham University.
He has served in leadership positions on the Alumni Council Executive Committee, Lafayette Leadership Council, Trustee Committee on Investments, and Northeast Advisory Council.
Kirsti W. Goodwin ’96 is managing director at Tower 3 Investments LLC, a family office in Richmond, Va. She is an active hedge fund and private equity investor and active community volunteer. Prior to Tower 3, she was most recently director of Investor Relations at Spider Management Co. SMC is a $10 billion firm that provides investment management services for foundations and endowments, including University of Richmond.
Kirsti W. Goodwin ’96
She began her tenure there as an associate director of investments specializing in hedge funds. Prior to SMC, she worked at Global Strategies Investment Management in Atlanta, Ga., and CornerStone Partners in Charlottesville, Va. She has held positions at the United States Golf Association, Industrial Bank of Japan, and Merrill Lynch Asset Management.
Goodwin currently serves on the board of trustees for the Darden School at University of Virginia and has also served on its alumni board. She is a board member for several of the private equity companies she has invested in as well as a member of the board of trustees for several nonprofit organizations. She is currently chair of the board for The Virginia Home, a Governor of Virginia appointed member of the board of trustees for Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and member of the Governor of Virginia appointed Citizens’ Advisory Council for the Executive Mansion.
She serves as a member of the Resource Council for the Grand Teton National Park Foundation, member of the investment committee for The Community Foundation in Richmond, Va., and member of the investment committee at The Collegiate School where her children attend. Goodwin graduated from Lafayette College in 1996 with a B.A. in mathematics and economics. She graduated from the Darden School of Business in 2002.
She and her husband, Matthew, live in Richmond with their two daughters, Alice and Evie.
Quincy Miller ’97 is vice chair and president of Eastern Bank, a full-service commercial and retail bank with $22.0 billion in total assets and over 90 banking locations serving communities in eastern Massachusetts, southern and coastal New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Miller spends his time focused on helping lead the overall strategic direction of Eastern, which has served its customers, colleagues and communities for more than 200 years. He is committed to supporting the communities where he lives and works with a focus on
youth and equity. He serves on the board of directors for Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, the Boys and Girls Club of Boston, Mill Cities Community Investments CDFI (Community Development Financial Institutions), and NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors)
New England. He is emeritus of Bottom Line, the Greater Boston Food Bank, Alliance for Business Leadership, and Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts. He is also a founding member of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity & Social Justice Fund.
Miller has been recognized by Boston Business Journal as a “Power 50 Most Influential and Impactful Leaders in Boston,” multiple years as “The 100 Most Influential People in Boston” by Boston Magazine, and as an inaugural member of the GK100 “Most Influential People of Color in Boston” by Get Konnected. A special honor was the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Breakfast’s “MLK 50th Anniversary Award” for his commitment to diversity and inclusion that expresses Dr. King’s commitment to justice and equity.
Miller, who earned a B.A. in economics and business from Lafayette College, is also a graduate of the Consumer Bankers Association’s Executive Banking School. Having graduated from the school early in his career, he is now proud to serve on the national board of directors for the Consumer Bankers Association as chair. He and his wife, Jenna, have two children.
In addition, two trustees previously retired from the board, effective June 30, 2023.
Barbara Levy ’77, who was elected to trustee emeritus status, is retired executive vice president, Merchandising, Ross Stores Inc., New York, N.Y. She joined the Lafayette College Board of Trustees in 1998, where she served as chair of the Committee on Student Life and as a member of the Audit and Executive committees. She also served as a founding member of the Council of Lafayette Women.
Lisa Kassel ’79, a fundraising consultant based in New York and former president of Lafayette’s Alumni Association, joined the Lafayette College Board of Trustees in 2018.
