Gladstone “Fluney” Hutchinson, associate professor of economics and policy studies and Whitman Family Director of the Gladstone Whitman ’49 Endowment Funds, was quoted in a June 12 article by the Jamaica Observer newspaper about the launch of the Africa-Caribbean Hub for Generative Artificial Intelligence.

In the article, Hutchinson, principal director for the hub, said the project represents “an extraordinary moment” to change the trajectories of the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean.
