Lafayette’s field hockey team has been named to the 2011 Gladiator SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Team.
The award recognizes programs that have achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
Additionally, four individuals were named to the 2011 Gladiator SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad by earning a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Nicola Coakley ’15 (Devon, Pa.) led the way with a team-high GPA of 3.83. Emily Valeo ’13 (Norristown, Pa.), an English major and Patriot League All-Academic Team selection, was recognized for a 3.69 GPA. Jaclyn White ’13 (Clarksboro, N.J.), a geology major, had a 3.62 GPA, and Jenna Seybert ’15 (Lansdale, Pa.) had a 3.33 GPA.
On the field, Lafayette captured the Patriot League Championship, the eighth in program history.

The best is yet to come. The team is reloading and working hard to build on their accomplishments. They know how hard it is to repeat and maintain an edge. I see a bright future as long they keep that competitive spirit. Well done to our team and coaches.
