In the College’s 13 Division I spring sports, 180 students were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the honor roll, student athletes need to record at least a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) during the semester.
Margaux LeBuffe '12 led the women's lacrosse team with a 3.90 GPA.
Fourteen members of the baseball team were named to the honor roll. Andrew Ruck ’13 (Ontario, Canada), a mechanical engineering major, led the team with a 4.0 GPA.
The men’s basketball team had seven players on the list. Andrew Moore ’12, who graduated with an A.B. with a major in government and law, led the team with a 4.0 GPA.
Eight members of the women’s basketball team have been named to the honor roll. Alexandra Serowoky ’12, who graduated with an A.B. with a self-designed major in design and film studies, led the list of honorees with a 4.0 GPA. She was one of three Patriot League women’s basketball players to earn a 4.0, and she has been named to the honor roll four times.
Seven Lafayette golfers were named to the list. Robert Dyer ’15 (Dayton, Ohio), an economics major, led the team and was one of only two Patriot League golfers to tally a 4.0 GPA.
The men’s lacrosse team had 20 honor roll selections. Economics major Anthony Zawadzki ’13 (Kings Park, N.Y.) and engineering studies major Jake Hyatt ’14 (Ridgefield, Conn.) led the team with 3.93 GPAs.
Cory Schultz '12 had a 3.88 GPA in the spring semester.
The women’s lacrosse team had a Patriot League-leading 21 honor roll selections. Margaux LeBuffe ’12, who graduated with an A.B. with majors in Spanish and American studies, led the team with a 3.90 GPA.
Eight softball players earned a place on the honor roll. Alex Campanaro ’15 (Piscataway, N.J.), a psychology major, led the team with a 3.93 GPA.
The swimming and diving team had 31 members on the honor roll, 12 men and 19 women. Cory Schutz ’12, who graduated with a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering, led the men with a 3.88 GPA. Schutz was also a member of the Academic All-Patriot League team. Alexandria Brannick ’12, who graduated with a B.S. in geology, and Imogen Cain ’12, who graduated with an A.B. with a major in art, each led the women with 4.0 GPAs. Brannick was also named Academic All-Patriot League and was the female Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Six members of the women’s tennis team and six members of the men’s tennis team have been named to the honor roll. Katherine Charchalis ’12, who graduated with an A.B. with a major in economics, led the women with a 3.85 GPA, and Michael Pinkard ’14 (Puyallup, Wash.), a physics major, led the men with a 4.0 GPA. This is Charchalis’ third selection to the Academic Honor Roll.
Michael Thompson '12 led the track and field team with a 4.0 GPA.
A combined 52 members of the track and field team, 23 men and 29 women, were named to the honor roll. The 2011 Maroon Club Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Michael Thompson ’12, who graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering; Nick Carboni ’13 (West Babylon, N.Y.), a computer science major; and Andrew Warshauer ’14 (Warren, N.J.), a chemical engineering major, each led the men’s team with 4.0 GPA’s. Kelly Senters ’13 (Center Valley, Pa.), a double major in government & law and international affairs, led the women’s team with a 4.0.
