Rachel Pena ’14
English major Rachel Pena ’14 (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) won the weight throw at the Patriot League Championships last weekend, tossing the weight 18.87 meters and earning a place on the All-Patriot League First Team.
She was also one of 11 track and field athletes named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team. To be eligible, a student must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
Pena ranks second in school history in both the hammer throw and 20-lb weight throw. She was Patriot League Champion in the hammer throw in 2012.
She will compete at the Women’s ECAC Championships March 8-9 in Boston, Mass.
