As the new chief financial officer of Avistar Communications Corporation, headquartered in Redwood Shores, Calif., Robert J. Habig '78 is overseeing financial operations for Avistar, a company that develops, markets, and supports a comprehensive suite of networked video communication services. “We are excited to have Bob join our management team,” says Gerald Burnett, Avistar CEO. “He is a seasoned executive with significant experience and a demonstrated record of accomplishment in the areas of financial management, systems management, administration, and corporate strategy.”
Habig has more than 30 years of experience in technology, financial services, consumer products, manufacturing, and distribution industries. He spent 15 years in various positions at PepsiCo, Inc., including vice president of information technology for Pepsi-North America and vice president, finance and chief financial officer of Pepsi-Cola Company-South. After leaving PepsiCo, he was vice president of finance and systems for the business services unit of Allied Signal Corporation and served as executive vice president, finance and administration, and chief financial officer for the electronic funds services division of First Data Corporation. Habig most recently was chief financial officer of think3, Inc., a private, venture-backed software company.
Habig, an economics and business graduate, holds an M.B.A. from Simon Graduate School of Business, University of Rochester.
