The College Television Network features Anthony Fasano '00 in “Pay Dirt,” a television program that showcases the civil engineering profession to students at colleges and universities throughout the country. The network is received at more than 1,500 institutions and has 1.5 million viewers.
“I thought it would be nice to let college students know what it's like here in the real world,” says Fasano. Filmed in his office and at off-site locations, Fasano discussed the educational requirements for civil engineers and the competitiveness of the field, as well as offering advice for prospective engineers. His role in the program was described in the February issue of ASCE News, the monthly publication of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
A civil engineering graduate, Fasano works for Maser Consulting, P.A. in West Nyack, N.Y., while studying part-time for a master's of science in civil engineering at Columbia University. He has worked in areas such as private resident development and small bridge design. “I enjoy seeing the projects that we design being built,” he says. “Lafayette definitely prepared me for everything I've needed to do at work. I had a good foundation in all aspects of civil engineering and can easily pick up anything that needs to be done.”
