Adam Moskowitz '00 says he loves his job as production assistant for the popular WB television drama “Dawson's Creek,” although the work isn't particularly glamorous. “I do a lot of running around,” says Moskowitz. At first, he fetched lunch for the show's producers. Now in his second year on the job, he handles postproduction duties such as helping to put together sets. He also delivers scripts to the cast members and finished reels to the studio.
“Dawson's Creek” has been on the air for five seasons, following its main characters from high school into college. Moskowitz serves as an unofficial in-house consultant on college issues. “The writers always ask for my help when they are writing for the college episodes,” he says. “They ask me fraternity questions, and they even named a character after me in one of the episodes.”
An English major and California native, Moskowitz moved back to the West Coast after graduation to look for work in the entertainment industry. He found his job through a distant cousin whose friend worked for “Dawson's Creek.” Breaking into show business, even as a self-described “lackey,” has brought Moskowitz a little closer to his ultimate goal: to become a movie producer.
