Musician Brad Yoder will play an eclectic mix of original alternative and traditional coffeehouse songs 10 p.m. tomorrow at Gilbert's.
The free concert is sponsored by Lafayette Activities Forum and Gilbert's.
Yoder has advanced to the second round in an on-line music contest run by makeastar.com.
“But it's the writing here that really grabs you, from the orchestrated title track to a solo acoustic performance of 'Land of the Free,' a devastating story of a black man being beaten by the cops,” writes the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette of Yoder's most recent album, Used.
A Pittsburgh resident, Yoder is a regular performer in small, local coffee shops. He graduated from Goshen College in 1990 as a music and German major, and has written songs in both German and French. For the last seven summers, he has worked for Concordia Language Villages, a network of summer camps that teaches children languages and the cultures where they are spoken.
