Donald Miller, John Henry MacCracken Professor of History, is serving as commentator for a series of radio programs on World War II battles. Airing at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays on AM 1400 WEST, the series began last week and continues through Jan. 23.
The programs are adapted from the “World War II Battle Classics” TV specials developed by Lou Reda Productions, according to The Morning Call. “Each segment features accounts from veterans as told by the historians who recorded their stories,” according to the article.
The remaining schedule will be “Unsung Heroes of Pearl Harbor” today, “Japanese War Crimes & Trials” on Jan. 16, and “Dateline Tarawa: Correspondents from Hell and the Flag Raisers of Iwo Jima” on Jan. 23.
Miller has received critical acclaim for The Story of World War II, a revised, expanded, and updated version of Henry Steele Commager’s classic book.
