Last June, the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, promoted Dr. Walter J. Pedowitz ’65to clinical professor of orthopedic surgery. A member of Union County Orthopedic Group, he is a specialist in orthopedic problems of the foot and ankle and supervises the foot and ankle clinic, New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Pedowitz chairs the coding committee of American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and served as a member of its board. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons coding committee and advises the American Medical Association coding committee. New Jersey Magazine named Pedowitz one of its “Best Docs in New Jersey,” and he has been featured in Best Doctors in America. He is the author of many journal articles and textbook chapters.
A biology graduate, Pedowitz received his M.D. from State University of New York. He did surgical training at the hospital of University of Pennsylvania and completed an orthopedic residency at New York Orthopedic Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University.
