A planning meeting for next semester’s “Block pARTy” will be held noon today at Gilbert’s.

The second annual Block pARTy will take place at the 600 block of Parsons Street 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, before the football team’s home game against Princeton.

Last year’s event included live music on two stages by Jazz Ensemble member Chris Michaud ’03, Tiesu Strings, student a capella groups Cadence and The Chorduroys, Lafayette Pep Band, and J. Larry (Stockton) and the DrumHeads; dance performances by Hispanic Society of Lafayette and Lafayette Dancers; Keppel the Magician; a participatory Graffiti Wall, which was exhibited the following week in the Williams Center for the Arts lobby; student art displays; free raffles of art and sports paraphernalia; and an arts information table. In addition, $5 lunch coupons for Quadrant Coffeehouse were given to students with Lafayette ID.

The free event is sponsored by Recreation Services, Lafayette Arts Society, Sports Marketing Club, and Office of Residence Life.
