History graduate Tom Davies ’74 is a member of the board of the Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, a trade group that represents more than 700 construction-related firms in central Pennsylvania.
Davies chairs the ABC Keystone Legal Rights Committee. The attorney is a partner with the York, Pa.-based law firm of Harmon & Davies. His expertise is in labor relations, employment, and construction law. Davies and his partner founded the firm with three attorneys in 1987; it now has 15 lawyers in several locations throughout the United States.
“Morrison Handsaker (former professor of business and economics) taught the course that first introduced me to the field of labor relations, which led me to my first job with the National Labor Relations Board following my graduation in 1974,” says Davies.
He earned his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1981. Davies served as a trial attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in Pittsburgh, Pa., for 12 years, during which he investigated more than 1,000 unfair labor practice cases, conducted more than 100 representation elections, and tried many cases.
Davies concentrates his practice on the representation of employers in labor and employment-related matters. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third and Fifth Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.
