Stephen F. Delahunty ’87 has joined the advisory board of Network Computing, a magazine that analyzes technology, vendors, and products for IT managers and staff who purchase technology. Delahunty is director of information technology for the Universal Service Administrative Company. Universal is a private not-for-profit corporation
responsible for providing U.S. states and territories of the United States with access to affordable telecommunications services.
Delahunty is also adjunct faculty at GeorgeWashingtonUniversity and writes computer instructor materials for Prentice Hall. He is a member of the board of the Network Professional Association and a contributing member of the Worldwide Executive CIO Council and CIO Magazine’s Best Practices Exchange. Delahunty has also served in the Army National Guard as an infantry captain, and has held several offices with the Virginia National Guard Association.
Delahunty earned an MBA in technology management from the University of Phoenix, plus various information technology industry certifications. But it all began at Lafayette where he earned a bachelors degree in engineering.
“The engineering program (provided) valuable writing skills to complement technical
knowledge,” said Delahunty, while the liberal arts demanded that he think critically, “not blindly believe everything I read or see.”
