A new video resume tool, called FLASHVUE, has been developed by a team of Lafayette alumni to assist students in marketing their skills to employers. The innovative technology will be introduced to the College community next week.
Students are invited to learn how FLASHVUE can assist with job searches by attending information sessions at 4:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in Kirby Hall of Civil Rights room 104. FLASHVUE representatives will be on campus Wednesday, April 6, conducting live demonstrations in Farinon College Center. For information, contact Career Services, 201 Hogg Hall, x5115.
FLASHVUE was created by Hank Fichtner ’04, president and founder of Flashvue LLC; Deirdre Mammano ’02, the firm’s director of business development; Michelle Kamine ’04, director of marketing; and Hal Kamine ’78, chairman.
FLASHVUE represents technological advancements in the employment-application process. Students applying for internships and permanent positions are encouraged to utilize the tool to present a more detailed profile to employers. The product combines a video clip of an applicant with a traditional resume. Video messages may effectively differentiate candidates from the others in the pool and potentially support better hiring decisions.
