Minneapolis-based securities firm Piper Jaffray & Co. has hired Ryan T. Stewart ’94 as a managing director and senior research analyst covering health care services companies. He is based in the firm’s New York office.

Previously, Stewart was a senior research analyst covering healthcare management and technology companies for SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. Before that, he was a senior associate research analyst with Bear, Stearns & Co., covering health care technology and distribution companies.

In addition, Stewart worked for about 10 years in management roles at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Andersen Consulting’s national health care consulting practice, and as founder/CEO of a venture capital-backed health care software company.

Obviously a hard worker, Stewart credits Lafayette with helping him to unlearn some bad habits.

“If I could do it over, I wouldn’t change a thing,” he says, “except perhaps taking a few more classes with [history professor] Don Miller and a few fewer evenings at WaWa.”
