The law firm Wolf, Greenfield and Sacks, P.C. has elected Jason M. Honeyman ’81 managing partner and president.

“I’m excited and honored to be entrusted with continuing the firm’s legacy,” he says. “Wolf Greenfield is the leading New England intellectual property law firm, known for producing outstanding legal guidance in technically diverse fields while maintaining a culture of caring for its attorneys and support staff.”

Honeyman specializes in counseling clients in complex litigation, licensing, and due diligence matters, strategic patent and trademark portfolio management, and product clearance. He represents start-up enterprises and major corporations such as Burton Snowboards and Davol/C.R. Bard.

“As a managing partner, I work with various groups of people with different responsibilities and I need to connect with each and every person,” says the metallurgical engineering graduate. “Being in a fraternity, Delta Upsilon, at Lafayette and playing on the rugby team provided me with a great education on how to work and succeed within a larger team. Although I value my engineering training, I am even more indebted for the life experiences I gained at Lafayette.”

When he is not working, Honeyman enjoys spending time with his wife Sandra Metzger Honeyman ’82, an English graduate and fellow Suffolk University Law School graduate, and two children, Spencer and Emma. He also coaches his children’s baseball and basketball teams.

Honeyman received his J.D. from Suffolk, where he serves as adjunct professor of advanced patent law and lectures on intellectual property law. Boston Magazine recognized him as one of Massachusetts’ “Super Lawyers” in the intellectual property field. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

In addition to managing attorney and technology specialist hiring for the firm, Honeyman has served as chair of the medical practice group, chair of the committee of practice group leaders, and member of the executive committee that manages the firm.
