As part of its Campus Invasion Tour, mtvU will bring an all-day Activity Village to the Quad, followed by a 7 p.m. concert featuring Motion City Soundtrack, Straylight Run, and hellogoodbye, Tuesday, April 25, at Kirby Sports Center. Tickets cost $7 for students and $15 for non-students.

Lafayette Activities Forum music co-chairs Danielle Ward ’08 (Chatham, N.J.), an English major, and John Thiel ’06 (Langhorne, Pa.), a psychology and English double major, are running the event sponsored by the student organization. They helped make the College an “mtvU school,” which gets the station on campus. In the fall, Gilbert’s will broadcast mtvU, which features a combination of music videos, student-produced work, mtvU-produced shows, and news breaks. The station also provides exclusive opportunities such as community service grants, job opportunities for students, and taping of mtvU shows on campus.

Activity Village areas and activities include:

  • mtvU Lounge, a fun and relaxing atmosphere with a video loop of mtvU programming;
  • Two kiosks with laptop computers where students can sign up to receive the mtvU Procrastinator newsletter;
  • Music trivia game “What’s Your mtvU IQ,” a loose variation of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and “Jeopardy,” with prizes for participants;
