Most areas of campus are without electric power tonight in the wake of severe thunderstorms in Easton and the region. Power went out just after 6 p.m.

Personnel in public safety, plant operations, and other offices are working to insure campus safety and security during the outage, which is due to an off-campus power failure. MetEd, Lafayette’s power provider, is working to restore power.

It is not known when power will be restored. If there is no power, the College’s administrative offices may be closed Wednesday, and employees who are not designated as essential to campus safety and security instructed not to report for work. Employees may call x5060 for updated information beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
