Dear Class of 2006,

I want to thank you so much for the stipend awarded to me to intern with the Yankee Group in Boston, Massachusetts. Being from Dallas, Texas, the opportunity was truly unique. For six weeks I lived in Boston University housing and interned at the Yankee Group, an information technology research and consultant firm with clients ranging from

Microsoft to Lucent Technologies. Under the guidance of alum Julie Zadow ’92, Vice President of Events, I helped organize the 2006 Wireless Leadership Summit. This event, one of the company’s largest, took place in New York City. I scheduled onsite meetings with analysts and had the unique opportunity to have direct contact with sponsors. I also assisted in a variety of events and marketing-related tasks while preparing Yankee Group’s fall events schedule.

It was exciting to be able to work with some of the most creative and talented individuals in the consulting and events industry. The internship with Yankee Group was an excellent opportunity for me to explore my own creative and professional abilities while working with top industry specialists. I loved being part of a small, yet influential, division and learning from the expertise of Julie Zadow and three other professionals, taking part in the great events they execute, and participating in the passion of a creative marketing experience.

Thank you again for the Class of 2006 stipend. None of this would have been possible without it!

Sincerely,

Leah Schachar
