Lafayette Activities Forum (LAF) presents stand-up comedian Alexandra McHale, who will perform 10-11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 in the Farinon College Center Snack Bar.
The event is free, but audience members are advised to arrive early to ensure seating.
“We saw Alexandra McHale at a conference last fall, and everyone on the board [of LAF] loved her,” says Marquis Scholar and mathematics major Joellen Cope ’08 (Dillsburg, Pa.), co-chair of LAF’s comedy committee. “Also, we wanted to switch things up and bring a female comedian since it has been awhile since we’ve had one.”
Psychology major Julia Olenski ’08 (Feasterville, Pa.) also is co-chair of the comedy committee and assisted Cope in organizing McHale’s performance.
McHale made her network television debut on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Premium Blend, and VH1’s “I Love the ‘80s” series and “Supersecret TV Formulas.”
In addition to her performances at clubs, McHale has headlined at over 300 colleges and universities, and college students across the country have voted her Female Entertainer of the Year two years in a row.
“her one liners are often original, and her funny session sets the tone for the show: sassy, off-color, but never crude,” praised Daily Variety.
This fall, McHale will perform her solo show “Flying StandBy” in Los Angeles and New York.
