President Daniel Weiss will host the first “Books & Coffee” series program of the academic year Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the back room of Gilbert’s Cafe. He will be engaging students, faculty and staff in a book discussion of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby.
Free coffee and cookies will be provided.
In Books and Coffee, organized by Student Life Programs, students are given the opportunity to hear faculty and staff talk about topics that interest them outside of their research and teaching specializations. The first program, held last semester, featured a discussion with Elizabeth McMahon, professor of mathematics, about the Harry Potter book series.
Jessica Manjack, assistant operations manager of Student Life Programs, says there are three book discussions tentatively scheduled for next semester, two in February and one in March.
Suggestions for Books and Coffee speakers and topics can be sent to Manjack.
