When Kelly Barrows ’06 was a senior, she received an e-mail announcing the launch of Lafayette’s Alumni Online Community. She knew that members of her class would disperse throughout the country and across the globe after graduation.

“I signed up right after [receiving that e-mail],” says the American studies major and math minor. “I joined the online community because I feel it is a great way to stay connected with members of my class, other alumni, and the college in general.”

Barrows lives in New York City and works for the Food Network and Fine Living (a division of Scripps Networks) in ad sales as a sales assistant.

She stays connected to Lafayette by attending New York City Alumni Chapter events and serving on the executive council of the chapter. She is also the president of her class, an alumni admissions representative, and works closely with the Alumni Association Undergraduate Relations Committee.

“I have really enjoyed being able to stay in touch with classmates, as well as being able to find the contact information for other alumni that I have met,” Barrows says. “I think that the online community is a great asset to our alumni. It not only helps classmates stay in touch, it fosters communication between classes.”
