The Chorduroys, Lafayette’s all male a cappella group, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in style with a huge show 8 p.m. Saturday, March 24 in the Williams Center for the Arts.

The concert, which will also feature female a cappella group, Cadence, includes songs from the group’s current repertoire, a couple brand new songs, and some old favorites as a tribute to Chorduroys alumni.

According to group president Dustin Bednarz ’08, numerous former members will be on hand for the event and a special dinner will be held prior to the concert for current students and alumni to get to know each other. He also says there are a couple surprises planned for the audience during the concert.

“We are very excited to be commemorating such a special event in our history, as well as having an opportunity to meet some of the men who made it possible for us to have this opportunity today,” says Bednarz. “We’re having this special concert to celebrate both the music and friendships we’ve made over the years. This concert will undoubtedly be one of the pinnacles in The Chorduroys’ history.”

The group’s current repertoire includes “Escape (The Pina Colada Song)” by Jimmy Buffet, “Welcome to Paradise” by Greenday, “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder, “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” by Rockapella, “Feel Like Makin’ Love” by Bad Company, “Sunshine” by Cadence, “Push” by Matchbox 20, “More Than Words” by Extreme, “Just a Gigolo” by David Lee Roth, “Alcohol” by Barenaked Ladies, “Tribute” by Tenacious D, “Africa” by Toto, “Ring The Bell of Old South College” by P.P. Bliss and Parke Davis, and “O Holy Night” by N*Sync.
