Students are invited to ask questions and discuss the issues
United States Senator Arlen Specter will hold an open house town meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 in Colton Chapel.
Although the event is geared toward students, it is free and open to the public. During the meeting, students are invited to discuss issues important to the region, state, and nation. He will address the audience briefly and devote the remainder of the hour to responding to questions and concerns.
“When you receive a notice that I’m going to be in your area for a town meeting, try to come out. My practice is to make a very short introductory statement of 5-7 minutes and then reserve the balance of time, or whatever time it takes, to answer questions. You don’t have to buy a ticket, you don’t have to make a contribution, all you have to do is come and listen a little and ask questions so that I can respond and have a better idea of what you’d like us to be doing here in Washington to represent you,” says Specter.
