Prof. Mark Crain quoted in Fox News article about campaign financing
Mark Crain, Simon Professor of Political Economy and chair of policy studies, was quoted in a recent Fox News article about how Democrats are raising more funds than Republicans in close Senate races by turning to out-of-state donors.
In the article, Crain, who has published more than 125 articles and 10 books in the fields of economics, business, political science, and law, said out-of-state contributions are understandable.
“I’m a big proponent of allowing this money to flow across borders,” Crain said. “The politician that has the biggest influence on your life is probably not the politician elected in your district.”
“Asked if local voters might see that as outsiders trying to meddle, Crain said politicians would need to weigh that problem and could even reject the money,” the article continues.
