Teri Fritze, production/company manager and touring coordinator for Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC), will kick off the Arts Society’s Arts Career Exploration Series today, which will introduce students to the spectrum of non-performance careers in the arts.

Fritze has coordinated DCDC’s travel schedule and housing, and has organized workshops for the dancers at several area schools. She is spending most of the day working with the Williams Center’s technical staff to prepare for Friday night’s performance.

(Dayton Contemporary Dance Company will teach a creative movement class 8 p.m. today in Kirby Sports Center room 229. The class is open to all, regardless of dance training or experience.)

She is the first of a group of professionals will describe their work and career path, as well as offer recommendations to students who may be interested in the same line of work. The informal discussions start at 12:15 p.m. in Williams Center for the Arts room 108 and end by 1:15 p.m. Pizza and beverages will be provided, and individuals may bring their own lunches.

English major Tyler Cohn ’06 (Wantagh, N.Y.), who conceived the idea along with Allison Blatt, operations director at the Williams Center, will introduce the speakers.
