Lafayette will honor students for academic excellence at the annual All-College Honors Convocation Sunday, April 17, at the Williams Center for the Arts.

The College will present awards and prizes to more than 100 students who have attained outstanding academic success and recognize students invited to become members of Phi Beta Kappa.

The keynote speaker will be Dina A. DeFalco ’95, vice president in the Law Division of Morgan Stanley.

Also speaking will be President Arthur J. Rothkopf ’55; Diane Cole Ahl, Arthur J. ’55 and Barbara S. Rothkopf Professor of Art History and chair of the Faculty Academic Progress Committee; and Provost June Schlueter.

Prizes will be awarded by Arthur D. Gorman, associate professor of mathematics and chair of the Faculty Subcommittee on Honors Convocation, and Gladstone A. Hutchinson, dean of studies.

DeFalco received a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Prior to her current position, she was a litigation associate at Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Silberberg, P.C., and Clifford Chance LLP. A summa cum laude graduate of Lafayette, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and served as class valedictorian. She received the 1995 Frank Kline Baker Spanish and Latin American Civilization Award, and was a state finalist for a Rhodes Scholarship. DeFalco served as president of the International Affairs Club, studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and was involved with many activities, including Drama Society and several musical ensembles.

(Note: Marquis Scholars and Trustee Scholarship recipients, selected from among Lafayette’s most promising applicants, receive a special merit-based financial award and educational benefits. In the EXCEL Scholars program, students do collaborative research with faculty while earning a stipend.)
