Robert Bosch Corp. promoted Sheryl Welsh Hyman ’85 to vice president of automotive sales and marketing. Previously, she held the position of vice president, original equipment sales for Asian, European, and heavy duty customers after serving Bosch as vice president of original equipment sales, General Motors.

Hyman has had assignments with the company in Charleston, S.C., Schwieberdingen, Germany, and Farmington Hills, Mich. Prior to joining Bosch, she worked at Environmental Tectonics and Hawley Software Systems.

An industrial engineering graduate, Hyman earned an MBA in business management from University of South Carolina. Her college education helped her transition from manufacturing cost estimation to strategic pricing to sales and marketing.

“The experience I had at Lafayette has had a tremendous impact on my career,” she says. “I have been with the same company for 17 years and it has continued to offer endless opportunities for me. The industrial engineering degree from Lafayette provided the diversity I needed to have the career opportunities I’ve enjoyed with Bosch. The technical background that Lafayette provided as well as the balance the A.B. degree had with business has been a great combination.”
