Cheerleaders pep rallyThe week kicks off with an Easton pep rally 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in Centre Square. There will be giveaways, performances by the cheerleaders and campus a cappella groups, and Coach Frank Tavani and the football captains will present Easton Vice-mayor and civil engineering professor Roger Ruggles with a commemorative football. Other events include a dance marathon, athletic competitions, a tailgate party, the annual SMAC the Lehigh car, a talk on the rivalry’s history, a spirit poster-making session, a Hawk Wing lunch, and the “All Hands In” student hand print banner.

Students can also get involved in the fifth annual Lafayette-Lehigh Giving Challenge, a friendly competition to engage alumni, students, parents, and friends by seeing which school can rally the greatest number of donors over a 10-day span. The challenge kicks off Nov. 12 and continues through the end of halftime. Gifts can be made by texting PARD to 20222, check, credit card, online, or by phone at (610) 330-5034.

For those unable to attend the game, there will be a telecast party from 2-6 p.m. in Farinon College Center. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

I live in Brick, N.J. at the Jersey shore and want to know where Lafayette alums are gathering in my vicinity to watch THE GAME?!?!?

Because this game is No. 150 at Yankee Stadium, the Hall of halls, I started getting “fired up” for the game, when November 1 rang in. We and our Lehigh friends will be gathering at our annual telecast party in Portland, Oregon. Our group can be found by tweets @LehighPDX (I said we are Friends!).

All of us Lehigh and Lafayette alumni hope that all you students, faculty and fans have a wonderful experience and that all of your activities and “hijinks” are great fun and are safe. We wish all of you @LehighU and @LafCol the best time. #ReanNTear! #GoLeopards.
