Kevin Mandia ’92

Kevin Mandia ’92, senior vice president and chief operating officer of the FireEye™ security software firm, discussed the ramifications of North Korea’s cyberattack on Sony Pictures on 60 Minutes Sunday.

Mandia became a national figure in 2013 after his cybersecurity company, Mandiant, published a 60-page report revealing that a military unit in China’s People’s Liberation Army was responsible for numerous cyberattacks on American corporations, organizations, and government agencies. The revelation propelled Mandia and his company to the forefront of a national security firestorm, which led to FireEye™ merging with Mandiant in a deal worth more than $1 billion.
