Class of 2018 Begins its Lafayette Journey

The Class of 2018 completed its first day of school yesterday during new student orientation. Over the next few days, the students will take part in activities focusing on intellectual development and building a class identity. The orientation program will culminate with a College-wide Convocation ceremony Sunday on the Quad. Classes begin Monday for new and returning students.

Welcomes and Goodbyes

Students and parents gathered on the Quad for the orientation welcome ceremony, which was hosted by President Alison Byerly, Easton Mayor Sal Panto, and Donna Krivoski, director of parent relations. Following the ceremony, the students said goodbye to their parents before the official start of orientation. Parents were invited to the president’s reception in Pfenning Alumni Center.

Orientation Kick-off

The orientation program kicked off with breakout sessions Thursday night in Kirby Sports Center. The students came together to form a giant “L” on Fisher Field and then took part in some fun introductory activities with their orientation leaders and classmates inside Kamine Gym.
