Certified therapist and inspirational speaker Robin K. Blake, known as “Doc Robin,” will speak on “Addictions: Dangerous Diseases” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in the Marlo Room of Lafayette’s Farinon College Center.

Free and open to the public, the event is part of Lafayette’s observance of Women’s History Month and Body Awareness Month. It is sponsored by the Lafayette Activities Forum.

The lecture will cover chemical dependency, alcoholism, eating disorders, and addictive personality disorder. Blake uses her experiences as an adult child of alcoholism and chemical dependency along with full-audience participation to talk openly and honestly about the effects of these diseases. Although it has a humorous flavor, the lecture will reach into core issues to provide lasting, lifesaving solutions.
