Junior Julie Damiano led efforts that raised $3,100 for a four-year-old Easton girl with brain tumors at a recent event.

With the help of fellow Lafayette students, the Washington, N.J. resident organized a fund-raiser at the College Hill Tavern in Easton, where she works. More than 200 people attended and purchased 800 raffle tickets at the event, which was held on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The organization organizes initiatives to grant the wishes of terminally ill children.

Money from the fund-raiser will go toward costs from a weeklong trip to Disney World that the young girl enjoyed with her family last month. Contributions are still being received.
