Civil engineering hydrology is the focus of the internship that Todd Baldwin ’02 (Allentown, Pa.) is enjoying at Taylor, Wiseman and Taylor this summer.

Baldwin is working on stormwater management issues such as site grading, pipe flow hydraulics, and detention basin design in the company’s satellite office in Doylestown, Pa. “In addition, I also do a lot of drafting with a program called Microstation,” says Baldwin, a civil engineering major. “We work with blueprints and drawings a lot, and I think that’s the best part of the job so far: learning to see and work with things on paper.” Baldwin has worked on sites in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The internship began May 14 and will end in mid to late August. The experience already has confirmed Baldwin’s desire to focus his civil engineering career on hydrology and hydraulics.

Taylor, Wiseman and Taylor is owned by the father of fellow civil engineering major Melissa Stevens ’02. Civil engineering majors Adam Brown ’02 (Pennsauken, N.J.) and Andew Grover ’02 (Hightstown, N.J) are working for the company at its offices in Mt. Laurel, N.J. and Cranbury, N.J., respectively.
