Larry Stockton, professor and head of music, and Bill Melin, professor of music, delivered a multi-media presentation entitled “The New York Jazz Experience: A Model for Experiential Learning” for the International Conference of the College Music Society at the University of Limerick (Ireland) on July 9.

The New York Jazz Experience has been taught as an interim session class at Lafayette since 1986 and was featured in a New York Times article in January 1997. The three-week course has provided opportunities for hundreds of students to develop an understanding and appreciation for America’s most unique art form.
