Hillel Society will start off the school year with Shabbat (Sabbath) dinner and a film as its first two events.

Shabbat dinner begins 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at the Hillel House, 524 Clinton Terrace. Information about High Holiday services will be discussed.

Robert Cohn, Philip and Muriel Berman Chair of Jewish Studies and head of the department of religion, will show the film The Marx Brothers: A Night at the Opera 7-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3 at the Limburg Theatre, Farinon Center. The movie is being shown as part of a class, but is open to all.
